It's only natural to want to make your sweet ride more personal to you and your taste - and to sometimes stand out and show off a bit. There's nothing wrong with that when you've invested in a beautiful vehicle. We have all seen custom cars. Some are obnoxious or over-the-top, while others stay true to the vision of the original maker while adding a personal touch. Here are 5 ways that you can customize your car to make it a little more unique to you.
1) ECU Tuning - Being that cars these days are controlled by computers, one of the easiest ways that you can modify your engine is by making changes to the software. This can change your torque curve, add power, increase your redline, and if not done properly, mess up your engine - so make sure you get only new ECU software from a reputable tuner. Software changes may also require mechanical upgrades as well.
2) Aftermarket Seats - Often times people make engine upgrades and add serious power to their vehicles without realizing that all that extra torque and power will have you whipping around in your seat. You can replace your factory seats with aftermarket seats that provide more support and grip while your zipping around.
3) Weight Reduction - Some of our favorite cars have one common problem when it comes to speed - they're super heavy. You can reduce the weight of your vehicle to make it lighter and faster (and even get better fuel economy) by swapping out things like the roof and hood for lighter ones. You can even remove the rear seats if you never use them.
